Description
We are looking for a System specialist with a strong and varied technical background, strong business ethic and a team player for a large New Zealand owned and operated organization.
Essential Skills for the role:
- Microsoft and Unix server platforms such as AIX, Linux distributions
- Backup/restore (NetBackup)
- Monitoring (HPOV, BMC)
- Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP
- VMWare and Virtualisation
- SAN
The main duties of this role are
- Maintenance, support and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure, organisation's local and wide area networks and communication infrastructure including security, corporate telecommunications systems including voice, data and video
- Maintenance of performance of multiple hardware and software platforms including SAN, VMWare, UNIX systems and backup infrastructure;
A Cisco certification is highly advantageous as is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
This is a very hands-on role, so you will have a very strong technical background, as well as good customer focus and vendor management experience.
